'Alibis' are on their way - just for you.

Friday 8th September 2023 sees the release of the first single from Tim Clayton & The Higher Lovers' new album, 'ALIBIS, EXCUSES & OTHER MISDEMEANOURS'.

The album contains 10 such alibis, excuses etc written from the perspectives of various fictitious and morally dubious protagonists.

The first is ALIBI No. 2 (I ONLY CAME TO DANCE). As the title suggests, it is designed to get you up on the dance floor and move to the irresistible beat; in the process overlooking the rather obvious character flaws in the narrator/singer.

The backing tracks were written and recorded at the home studio, with vocals, post production, mixing and mastering expertly handled by Matt O'Donnell at Untapped Talent Recording Studios in Southampton.

The accompanying video was filmed at various locations in Hawaii (more about that to come in a separate blog), Dilton Marsh and Brighton.

The remaining 'ALIBIS' will hit the airwaves over the coming months, although I'm still mulling over the precise order of release.

Ideally placed for an Indian Summer hit (let's hope that it can be both an Indian Summer and a hit) ALIBI No. 2 (I ONLY CAME TO DANCE) hints of delights to come in the form of tales of addiction; broken hearts; exotic Arabian nights; sexual tension in the city; the trials of commuting and modern life; murder and wild parties in New York; disco; a manifesto of defiance; and (already the winner of an international songwriting award) inter-galactic travel. There is truly an alibi, excuse or misdemeanour to cover most eventualities - something for everyone.

In the meantime, look out for the video, soon to be seen on YouTube and the single which will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon and all other major digital distribution networks. The album will be released on CD in due course. But in the meantime, listen, dance, enjoy.
